I, just like you, started playing this MMO called WoW with little if any understanding of the time consuming work amount you need to put in leveling a character. I thought everything will be simple and easy , smooth.
Well, I discovered that leveling a wow character was pretty hard work. All of the new areas I had to go to and quest in order to level up, not knowing finding the particular quest mobs, these were major blocking points personally. So, instead of wondering just like a newbie and winding up killed by stronger high level mobs, I started asking people on ideas to ease the painfully dead slow process of leveling. I mean why don’t you? I did not want to spend your time doing random things, I wanted to enjoy the wow feeling.
However , many folks got pissed off pretty fast and jumped at me and said I was a noob. What does that even mean? That shut my mouth for good. My friends told me to quit the game and I considered doing exactly that.
Eventually I had been chatting on YM by having an online friend who played WoW just like me. I asked him:
“- Hey Frank, how did you level from 32-40 so fast? You had been online for 4 hrs only. (feeling enraged and hopeless).
- Well, one of my buddies emailed us a simple text leveling guide and that i put it to practice.
- Would you mind giving it in my experience too? Please…”
My toon wasn’t level 32 yet but I was struggling with quests in Thousand Needles (a questing zone in WoW). After several “please” from my part, my friend shared that guide for future use.
Since that moment, he provided precise guides for every leveling range, with tips about what areas to choose for questing and what mobs to kill. I was never more happier.
I did not know much about talent points, but my pal who was leveling a hunter, told me I should read their description and put some points inside them. I ended up screwing up my talents points, but I did not know that. Frank gave me extra gold to reset my talents and choose the right ones.
I were able to level my warrior to level 60 and I was happy. Now all I had to do is get to Outland and level more. Now what? What to do, what quests to choose, which mobs to kill? I was lost again. My friend grew tired of me and helped me half-heartedly.
I had been lucky to become listed on a guild and that solved the problem out in some manners. They shared some tips on how to level mining, since i have hadn’t chosen any profession yet, and that i started making some gold, which wasn’t bad at all.
On of guildmate named Lucian wrote on guild chat that his level 73 warlock was the 3rd toon he’s leveling, and he made it happen pretty fast. He explained he was using Joana’s leveling guide. And so i decided I should buy it too. Back then, Joana’s guide was all text with a few pictures and also the leveling went pretty smooth. I considered it a good investment.
But once the new expansion Wrath from the Lich King came into being, all hell broke loose. Now what?
My old guild disbanded for no major reason and that i ended up alone once more. I just read some stuff about the new expansion and its “benefits”. Leveling was decent, but I wasted a large portion of the time reading details on the brand new quests. Not to mention the truth that the brand new Northrend locations were packed by a large amount of players.
I learned of some “magical” addon that may give me clues on finding the quest mobs, quest items and whatnot. It is called Quest Helper. I started using might things got a whole easier. I had been not satisfied completely but that is generate an income got my first character to level 74 and eventually to level 80.
Since that time, I’ve leveled up more than ten (10) characters to level 80 and I’ve also helped out other people do it.
